Our pharmacy is a convenient local source for vaccine advocacy, education, and administration. Our professional staff includes five pharmacists who are specialists certified in Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery. Through this training, the pharmacists are knowledgeable about all vaccine preventable illnesses, the immunization schedules for children and adults, and have expertise in vaccine administration.
Our immunization professionals can:
- Formulate immunization plans for adults based on age, gender, past medical history, immunization records, and lifestyle factors (including travel itineraries).
- Evaluate current vaccine status for children and recommend appropriate immunizations using current vaccine schedules.
- Administer vaccines in the pharmacy under protocol (without prescription) for all adults and children over age 14, and with a valid physician’s prescription for children under age 14. Flu shots may be administered to children over age 8.
- Provide vaccines through the Texas Vaccines for Children program at no charge for the product and with only a nominal administration fee for eligible children aged 18 and younger who are uninsured or underinsured.
- Bill Medicare for certain eligible vaccinations.
- Provide International Certificates of Vaccination or Prophylaxis approved by the World Health Organization.
We provide a full-line of immunizations, including but not limited to influenza, H1N1, pneumococcal, shingles, HPV, tetanus and combinations, MMR, chickenpox, hepatitis A and B, meningococcal, and various travel vaccines. We are also a state-certified provider of Yellow Fever vaccine. Many vaccines are in current stock and others can be obtained through special order. Contact an immunizing pharmacist professional to discuss your vaccine needs and schedule an appointment for administration. |
